Recommended Databases

These databases are collections of information organized for easy access and used to retrieve archived magazine or journal articles for research purposes.  Our library subscribes to several databases for student research.

Access PA/Power Library - Access PA gives patrons ability to access library catalogs across the state.  Power Library provides access to Databases, Journals, ebooks, hosted by Pennsylvania's library system.  

Google Scholar - Google Scholar helps you find relevant scholarly work from around the world.  Provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature.  From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources:  articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and a host of other academic areas.

Research Guides Pathfinder - Government run website that can also be classified as a database for historical documents.  The LOC provides accurate historical information including documents, photographs, audio files, videos, maps, sheet music, and much more. Great for historical research.

Library of Congress - Sponsored by the University of Delaware, this Research Guides Pathfinder is not a database, but a free pathfinder for both students and the public to find accurate and updated information.  Provides easy access to scholarly articles, websites, research strategies, and more.

Life Photo Archive-  Sponsored by Google with the help of Life Magazine to bring original photos to the forefront of research.
